Mr.
Pelz (VP Marketing) has spent his entire business career in
advertising and marketing, mostly in Southern California. He worked in
client service and strategic planning for two of the nation’s largest
advertising agencies,
Needham
, Harper & Steers (now part of Omnicom Group) and Benton & Bowles (later
merged with D’Arcy McManus and then bought by Publicis Groupe, SA). He managed
multi-million dollar advertising budgets for clients such as Continental
Airlines, Vivitar Camera, Avco Financial Services, Home Savings of America and
Bridgestone Tires. He directed the development of highly successful
advertising campaigns that introduced Continental Airlines first 747s and the
airline’s new service routes to
Hawaii
and
Chicago
. He supervised the advertising campaigns for Home Savings when they
expanded from their
California
base to several other states in the nation, including
Texas
and
Missouri
.
In 1980, Mr. Pelz joined California Federal Bank as
Vice President of Advertising and Sales Promotion. Deregulation of the
financial services industry was in full swing, and he was in charge of Cal
Fed’s advertising and direct marketing efforts as they expanded into other
states, including
Florida
, where they had a 25 branch operation. Later he joined Southern
California Gas Company to direct their marketing efforts as the energy industry
entered the first phases of deregulation.
In the mid-1990s, Mr. Pelz started his own
marketing consulting firm in
Malibu
,
CA
, where his clients included FX cable network, Aames Home Loans, Union Bank,
GTE, as well as several small, new business start-ups, including two
Internet-based companies, HealthWindows.com and ForMyCause.com.
Mr. Pelz moved to
San Jose
,
CA
in 2001, where he re-launched his successful marketing consulting practice.
